Review: Banana

Banana Banana by Ed Vere
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love! Almost wordless, it's all in how you say something, instead of all you can say...
A hit at story time, and then we played a monkey bean bag game, and yes, the bean bags were banana shaped. A great monkey story that doesn't involve five of them ;)

So I hang out in the forums on the Harlequin pages...

...and they started a new thread in the Fun and Games folder called something like, One Harlequin Leads to Another. We play the game with movie and music titles, but this one is all about Harlequin titles, and so you list one and the next person has to match it with either a Harlequin title with the same word as one of the words in your title (i. e. Forbidden Fire, then Melting Fire) or by the same author.

So then I'm thinking about all the Harlequins I used to read as a teenager. I spent half my childhood in a small town and was an outsider, so the public library was the greatest place in the world for me. And the Harlequin paperbacks were adventures in far away places, the heroine always got her man--except in two of them, and then I would never read those authors again; and, if I lost the book, I knew I had enough babysitting money to pay for it, so it was safe to check out.

This forum brought all that back. The bright spot in what was sometimes a time of loneliness. Thank you, Harlequin!
